If you know me at all, you know that Dan Wheeler is one of my favorite pitchers ever. So I wasn’t exactly devastated that Team USA got eliminated from the WBC and Wheels and Brad Lidge arrived back in Kissimmee the day before we left. We got to see both of them pitch an inning on our last day, in the game vs. Detroit.

This stadium is old and quirky and uncomfortable and sort of difficult to locate. In a way, though, it was sort of the perfect Spring Training stadium, and Sarah and I view it with affection. Even though we were harrassed by the giant furry pink mascot for rooting for the wrong team.

We happened to be sitting just a few rows in front of this couple when he proposed to her, on the giant screen at Yankee Stadium. Very sweet moment.
